Charge the ring
Seat the ring on the magnetic charger. An internal glow is visible while it charges. A full charge from empty takes about 2 hours.
The cable ends in USB-A; a power adapter is not included.
A practical, image-led workflow for charging, fitting, pairing, recording, syncing, and troubleshooting the research ring used in RAP Lab.
Before starting a participant session, make sure the hardware, fit, app, and storage state are ready.
The May 2026 BIOPAC product sheet identifies the device as AT01. The exact model printed on this lab package has not yet been verified.
EDA, PPG, brief ECG, temperature, and accelerometry.
Heart rate (HR) and heart-rate variability (HRV).
Bluetooth Low Energy.
Runtime may exceed 8 hours, depending on enabled channels and sampling.
charts.senstream.com is listed as the cloud portal. Portal access has not yet been verified in this setup.
Optional ACK100W-RNG AcqKnowledge Ring Software supports up to 9 rings per computer.
Use the RESRING-ECG-ADAPT together with the RESRING-LEAD. The ring itself is listed for brief ECG.
Follow these steps from power to pairing. Fit is not cosmetic: stable sensor-to-skin contact is essential for uninterrupted data.

Choose the clear sizing insert that removes slack and keeps the finger pressed against the sensor block. The shim used in this setup is marked size 9.
Slide the shim into the ring band. Seat the shim’s curved channel inside the band and make sure its clips engage the band.
The sensor block contains the gold EDA electrodes and the PPG optical window — the dark square with the red optical element visible in the close-up.
Place this complete sensor area against the palm-side skin of the finger, with firm, continuous contact.
Push the ring down toward the base of the finger. It should hold securely against the skin and resist sliding during recording.
If another finger gives a more stable fit, use it. The middle finger produced a snugger fit during troubleshooting.
Install Senstream on an iPhone or iPad. Senstream is available only on iOS/iPadOS; there is no Android version.
Do not pair the ring from iOS Settings → Bluetooth.
The ring does not appear there. Open Senstream and add the ring from inside the app. In this setup, the app displayed ring ID 20540 and “1 Ring Connected.”
Use the recording dialog to name the session, select the signal configuration, and begin acquisition.
| Configuration | Channels and rates | Note |
|---|---|---|
| A | PPG 200 Hz · EDA 5 Hz · Temperature 5 Hz | Selected in this setup |
| B | ECG 200 Hz · PPG 25 Hz · EDA 5 Hz | Shown in the app |
The session screen shows live traces for PPG, EDA, temperature, and acceleration, a pulsing PPG trace, and a session timer.
A Mark Event button is visible. Its behavior was not verified during this setup, so this guide does not assign it a function.
Keep the hand still, avoid rotating the ring, and watch for a continued live trace rather than a “No Finger” state.
The setup account is signed into Senstream Cloud. Confirm storage and synchronization before ending the workflow.

What’s New
During this setup, “No Finger” dropouts were linked to intermittent skin contact.
Push the ring toward the base of the finger.
Add the correct sizing shim and ensure it is clipped into the band.
Keep the hand still during recording.
The middle finger gave a snugger fit during this session.
The room was 20.2°C; cold hands may have contributed to contact or signal instability.
After correcting the fit, end the frozen session and start a new one.
This boundary keeps the guide honest and tells the next operator exactly where testing should continue.
